To anyone following my 200k challenge

To keep all posts together, I'm going to cease posting this challenge here, and will make daily posts in the BBV thread I've been doing. I'll try to find some worth while content for here.

old computer is back home

My old computer is back and fixed, so I've retired my temp computer for now. I've spent some time trying to move files from that computer, but have't finished completely. Currently my PokerTracker database is still on my vista computer, and that will take some time to transfer over.

In the last week my friend and I have been working on improving our winrates. I have a database I bought from a 2+2 poster last year, and we spend a few days reviewing the differences from his play, my play, and my friends play. We were able to find a lot of small things, and we both took a a few bits and pieces to put into our games.

I found that my biggest leak is my play of medium hands (AT, KJ, QT). As a group, I was actually losing money every time I saw a flop with them. A made a few simple adjustments, and it's been going extremely well since:

- I adjusted my opening range to about 14% of hands from UTG, and up to 40% of hands from the button. This works out to about 26VPIP and 21PFR, and allows me to play more of those medium hands from in position, instead of out of position.

- I worked on losing less with my hands when I'm behind. I've done this by continuation betting less on bad flops, and less verses players who call to lightly.

- On the flipside, I've worked on getting more value from my medium strength hands when I'm pretty sure I'm ahead. To do this, I also need to not stack off in bad spots, which leads me to...

- Playing with my head and focusing on the game more. I no longer am making bad bluffs, and I'm folding hands in spots where I can't be ahead, and calling more often when I'm likely getting bluffed. This seems like common sense, but it's amazing how much better my play is today then just a week ago.

I'll put up some graphs when I have a bigger sample of my play.
